So, in this post, we will be updating all JAMB and WAEC candidates who will be sitting for the upcoming JAMB examination with the JAMB subject combination for Education and History for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Keep in mind that the JAMB subject combinations as well as the o level (WAEC) requirements mentioned on this post are only meant for Education and History under the faculty of Education.

JAMB Subject Combination For Education and History

The required JAMB subject subject combination for Education and History are:

History and any other two subjects chosen from CRK, Islamic Studies, Lit. in English, French, Yoruba, Geography/Physics, Economics, Government and Hausa.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIBEN requires History or Government, one art and any other subject.

(ii) UNILAG accepts any three of Literature in English, History/Government, French, Geography, Mathematics, Yoruba/Igbo, crk/irs, Economics, Commerce.

(iii) LASU does not accept Physics in lieu of Geography.

(iv) TASUED requires History and any other two subjects from Arts and Social Science.

WAEC (O Level) Subject Requirements For Education and History

The list of compulsory WAEC subjects required for Education and History under the faculty of are as follows:

Five SSCE credits in English Language, History and any relevant Arts subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) OOU and UNICAL accept General English at NCE in lieu of ‘O’ level credit/TC II merit in English Language. UNICAL accepts only a pass in O/Level Mathematics.

(ii) OAU accepts Music, Fine Arts, but not Government or Economics.

(iii) DELSU accept Government in lieu of History.

(iv) UNILAG requires five O/Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, History/Government and two (2) of Yoruba/Igbo, CRS/IRS, French, Geography, Economics or Literature in English.

(v) UNIBEN requires five O/Level credit passes in History/Government, Fine Arts, Literature-in-English, Religious Knowledge and English Language.

(vi) LASU requires ‘O’ Level Credit passes in Mathematics and Government or History is compulsory.

(vii) ABSU requires Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, History or Government and any three subjects.

(viii) UMYU requires five O/Level credit passes including English Language, History and any other three Arts subjects with a pass in Mathematics.

(ix) TASUED requires Five ‘O’ level credits at one sitting or six ‘O’ level credits at two sittings to include English Language, History/Government and any other subject from Arts and Social Science.

(x) OAU requires O’ level credit passes in five subjects, must include English Language and History, or TC II merit/credit passes in English Language and Social Studies plus any other three subjects.

(xi) GO requires credit pass in Mathematics.
