JAMB Uncovers 3,000 Nigerian Graduates with Questionable Credentials

Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made a shocking discovery, uncovering over 3,000 fake graduates in Nigeria.

This revelation was made by JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with the Committee of Pro Chancellors of State Universities in Nigeria (COPSUN) in Abuja.

According to Prof Oloyede, these individuals never attended any university, yet they claim to be graduates.

He condemned the widespread corruption in the system, which enables such fraudulent activities.

The JAMB Registrar emphasized that illegal admissions are a disservice to the nation and an embarrassment to the education sector.

JAMB had earlier warned candidates against accepting admissions offered without full academic participation.

The examination body’s discovery comes after the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education directed JAMB to compile a list of tertiary institutions involved in irregular admissions in December 2023.
