JAMB Reduces 2024 Admission Age to 16 – In a surprising move, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reduced the admission age for tertiary institutions in Nigeria to 16.

This decision was made during the JAMB policy meeting for the 2024/2025 admission session.

However, it’s important to note that this reduction is only for the 2024/2025 admission session, and from next year, 2025/2026, the age requirement will revert to 18 years.

This change in policy has raised questions among stakeholders, with some expressing concerns about the preparedness of 16-year-olds for tertiary education.

However, JAMB has assured that this decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with relevant stakeholders.
