At Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (FUNAI), Physics is a compulsory subject for many courses. These include all engineering courses like Chemical, Civil, Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Petroleum Engineering. Computer Science, Geology, Geophysics and Physics itself also require Physics as a core course.
For Mass Communication, Literature in English is usually a required subject for admission into this course at FUNAI. So if you don’t have credit in Literature, you may not be eligible for this course.
FUNAI has engineering courses that cover energy in general like Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering but there’s no specific course titled Energy Management. But these courses cover energy production and utilization.
For students without Biology, many courses are still available. Courses in the Faculty of Humanities like English and Literary Studies, History and Strategic Studies, Philosophy and Theatre Arts do not require Biology.
Courses in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences like Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics and Development Studies, Mass Communication, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology are open to students without Biology.
FUNAI does not have a course titled International Business for those who are interested in the courses. But the Business Administration course covers business on a global scale, it gives insight into international business practices and strategies.

About the Federal University Ndufu-Alike (FUNAI )
Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI) is a private university in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Established on 26th February 2011, it started academic activities on 5th November 2012. Originally named Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), it was renamed on 2nd February 2018 after the late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, Nigeria’s former Vice President.
The university is located in Ikwo Local Government Area, 25km from Abakaliki, the state capital. It occupies 438 hectares of land provided by Ebonyi State Government
AE-FUNAI has 13 faculties, 50 departments, 58 programmes, a College of Medical Sciences and a School of Postgraduate Studies.
In 2019, Federal Government designated Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital as the university’s teaching hospital for its medical students.
Professor Sunday Oge Elom born 5th November 1961 became the first indigenous and third substantive Vice Chancellor of AE-FUNAI in January 2021.
The university is poised to provide quality education and research in all fields and development of Nigeria education.
