JAMB Extends 2024 Direct Entry Registration Indefinitely, a new date to be announced later.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the indefinite registration extension for Direct Entry (DE) candidates.

In a recent update shared on X (formerly Twitter), the board assured Direct Entry candidates of the possibility of an extension and acknowledged the challenges faced during the registration process.

While no specific deadline for the registration closure was mentioned, JAMB expressed its commitment to communicating the new deadline soon.

Direct Entry registration caters to candidates with A-level qualifications, granting them admission directly into the second year of university studies.

However, the registration process has been marred by challenges, including discovering fake A’Level results submitted by some applicants.

In response to this issue, JAMB introduced a stringent verification system for A’Level results in 2023 to curb fraudulent practices.

This measure, aimed at ensuring the authenticity of qualifications presented by DE candidates, inadvertently slowed down the registration process.

JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede further emphasized the board’s commitment to maintaining standards in the Direct Entry registration process.

He outlined 13 acceptable qualifications for DE registration, including university diplomas, Ordinary National Diplomas, Nigeria Certificate in Education, Higher National Diplomas, and university degrees.
