So, in this post, we will be updating all JAMB and WAEC candidates who will be sitting for the upcoming JAMB examination with the JAMB subject combination for Home Economics and Education for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Keep in mind that the JAMB subject combinations as well as the o level (WAEC) requirements mentioned on this post are only meant for Home Economics and Education under the faculty of Education.

JAMB Subject Combination For Home Economics and Education

The required JAMB subject subject combination for Home Economics and Education are:

Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science and one other subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) IAUED requires at least one Science subject.

(ii) MOUA requires Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, and Mathematics/ Physics as UTME subjects.

(iii) UNIBEN requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any other two Science or Social Science subjects.

(iv) EBSU requires a Social Science subject as the third subject.

(v) UNILAG requires one other subject of mathematics and physics.

(vi) BSU requires Mathematics, Chemistry and Economics/ Commerce.

(vii) UNN requires Chemistry OR Biology plus any other two science or social science subjects like Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Commerce and Geography.

WAEC (O Level) Subject Requirements For Home Economics and Education

The list of compulsory WAEC subjects required for Home Economics and Education under the faculty of are as follows:

Five SSCE NTC/NBC credits or TC II merit passes including English language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology and Chemistry.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIBEN requires at least a pass in Chemistry and a credit pass in Biology/Agric Science.

(ii) IAUED requires at least one Science subject.

(iii) DELSU requires credit in Biology, Home Economics and at least a pass in Mathematics/Chemistry.

(iv) UNIUYO requires a credit pass in Chemistry.

(v) UNILAG requires Chemistry, Mathematics and any other one subject of Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and textile, Home Management, Biology/ Agric. Science or Physics.

(vi) EBSU requires five `O` level credits in English, Mathematics, and any three of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Food and Nutrition, Clothing and textile, Home Management.

(vii) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credits Mathematics/English Language/Home Economics, Biology, Geography, Physics/Chemistry.

Old Grade II
Five Passes including Arithmetic/English/Domestic Science.

New Grade II Teachers Certificate
Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Home Economics.

NB:
Note one (1) Home Economics subject is required i.e Foods and Nutrition or Home Management or Textile and Clothing.

(viii) UNN requires five ‘O’ level credits which must include ANY TWO of the following: Home Management, Clothing and Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Biology,Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science, Economics, Cosmetology, Garment Making and Catering Craft at WASC/ WASSCE/GCE ‘O’ level / /NABTEB/NECO plus UNN minimum entry requirement.

(ix) ABSU requires Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Chemistry and any two other subjects.

(x) BSU requires Credits in English, Mathematics, Biology and any 2 of the following subjects Home Management, Clothing and Textiles Food and Nutrition, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
