According to the Minister, this decision is in line with Nigeria’s law, which prohibits the admission of underage students to tertiary institutions.

He emphasized that no one should recommend anyone under 18 for admission, stressing that this guideline must be strictly followed.

The directive affects all tertiary institutions such as Universities, Polytechnics and others.

  1. What nonsense so people who are under 18 years should stay at home and waste their time before it was under 16 years now under 18

Yes please, at the age of 18, it is suppose that you know what’s Right and wrong… However, I’m not saying those below the age of 18 do not know their left and right, and for this reason, it will be more mature of them them if they’re given admission at the age of 18. Before then, they can engage themselves in any handwork that can aid to their progress in life or better still, assist their parents in their various businesses or work.

Please….what will 18 years be the age limit
Firstly the limit would have been set before the sales of JAMB form to prepare the minds of candidates
Secondly 16 is more than ok for students who are eligible to be in the higher institution
We shouldn’t use the problem of one to rub others
Even most of the people above 18 or there about are not ready to be in the higher institution,so if we have people at least 16 years of age, they shouldn’t be deprived the opportunity to go to school
A lot of resources has also been put in place and they can’t be wasted
Before they took the decision of writing JAMB they know what they are in for,so this shouldn’t end up distrupting the dreams of young ones who are ready for education
Am 16 years old and I wrote this exam with a willing mind and an expectation……so please I use this opportunity to pled that the age limit should be reconsidered to 16 age.
