Dog walking is a great way for individuals to get some great exercise and be able to enjoy the outdoors all while caring for man’s best friend. Dog walks are typically scheduled M-F between the hours of 10am-4pm, so candidates should have similar availability. Candidates should also be confident in their dog handling skills and be comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperament. Candidates must be able to track their schedule in a calendar or planner, be accessible by and responsive to email on a daily basis, and have their own reliable insured vehicle and current driver’s license. Dog walks are assigned within a 3 mile radius of the zip code 22206. Minimum 4-month commitment required.

Job Requirements

Must have a love and passion for animals and be willing to walk in any type of weather conditions.
Must have dog walking experience / control of dogs of varying sizes and breeds. (both personal and professional experience will be considered)
Must possess exceptional written and verbal skills to interact with us and our clients.
Must be dependable, responsible, reliable, have strong communication skills, and common sense and good judgment.
Must be adaptable – things happen.
Must manage time efficiently to adhere to strict windows of service
Must maintain safety of clients’ keys, possessions and confidential information
Must have Monday-Friday Availability 11am-4pm (EVERY DAY, not necessarily working that whole duration)
Must be detail oriented and understand the importance of customer service.
Must own a reliable, insured, registered vehicle and have a valid drivers license.
Must have daily access to the Internet and be able to check email up to 3x/day; responding to texts in a timely fashion.
Must be able to provide references and pass a criminal background check if accepted.
Must be in good physical health.
Must be willing to commit 6 months, but a year or more is preferred.

Our sub walkers work Monday-Friday on an as needed basis. You must have an open schedule and be available to fill in for midday dog walkers who are sick, on vacation, or have a last minute emergency.
